.) A scale model is a representation or copy of an object that is larger than the actual size of it.
.) One type of scale model is the study/ working model, which is quickly built to show the preliminary nature of the design. The other type, presentation/ finished model, is a fully developed design with a lot of detail and high levels of craftmanship.
.) Advantages of a working scale model are that elevations can be moved and taped into place when needed fro study or review. Also, it can be easily taken apart for storage and transportation. Limitations are that is does not show design details as accurately and is less realistic in terms of space.
.) Advantages of a presentation scale model are that is shows design details like colors and textures. Limitations include high cost, time consuming, and requires expensive tools.
.) We will be making one working model of our entire apartment and one presentation model of 2 to 3 rooms.
